Quran: [17:36] "You shall not accept any information, unless you verify it for yourself. I have given you the hearing, the eyesight, and the brain, and you are responsible for using them."
Quran: [49:12] "O ye who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, ye would abhor it...But fear Allah. For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful."
Deen Islam, the ultimate source of inner peace and tranquillity
How to acquire inner peace and tranquility in Deenislam
The world in which we live is full of wonders and unexpected events. Our lives are always in a state of perpetual turmoil caused by the waves of those events. Pleasure and pain, success and failure, happiness and sadness, war and peace, unity and discord, prosperity and misery, justice and discrimination are all part of this world in which we live. Life is therefore like a restless sea where not a single person is secure from the violent waves on the surface of this deep ocean.
Today men have achieved the comfort and welfare that was never in the reach of the people of the past. The remarkable progress and advancements in science, technology, transport, communication and others were not known to our ancestors. The human of today have learned ways to employ nature’s various forces to his benefits.
However, despite these great achievements in various academic fields and in spite of possessing required means essential for a peaceful and stable life, man today failed to provide for himself the security and peace that are the basic of a prosperous life. Why? This academic is suffering from stress, anxieties and other diseases. Why? This materialistic life has kept this intelligent man away from his real purpose of his existence. Why?
Anxiety has taken an upper hand and stress is a common problem in our society. One of the factors for such diseases to appear in the society is greediness or acquisitiveness. In a society where people thoughts rotate around the axis of materialism, where wealth and passing material comforts are considered as the criteria of prosperity and misfortune, and where everyone is always after the satisfaction of this inner urge, life is certainly full of continuous stress and nervousness. The reason for that is, no matter however extensive one’s efforts may be, he cannot satisfy his endless greed and realise all his desires and wishes. More often, obstacles arise in the way of his desires and goals, which lead him into an unstable state of mind. Such a person with a disturbed mind is far away from acquiring inner peace and tranquillity. This person may live a luxurious life but does not in reality enjoying a peaceful life where tranquillity reigns and happiness leads. He is no doubt an unhappy person.
Is there any solution? Can all these worries, anxieties and stress be replaced with satisfaction, inner peace and tranquillity? The answer is “yes” if the belief and determination are there to search for an alternative. In order to find a solution, the purpose of life should be revised and understood correctly. And our goal should be to live for that purpose. The Almighty Allah states:
And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).Chapter 51-Verse 56
The understanding of the above Quranic verse is of great importance because it provides us with a concept. It shows us the way forward and from where guidance should be sought. As the Noble Quran is the final divine revelation it emphasises on all the aspects of life. A person should have no doubt about the authenticity of the revealed Quran as a complete guide to mankind from Almighty Allah:
Say: “Verily, Allah’s Guidance is the only guidance, and we have been commanded to submit (ourselves) to the Lord of Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exist)” Chapter 6-Verse 71
Believers turn to the One and only Almighty Allah for guidance and are fully aware of the blessing awaiting the person who submits himself completely to Allah. Tranquillity and inner peace can only be acquired under the umbrella of the divine guidance. Prosperity lies in the obedience to Allah.
“Those who believed (in the oneness of Allah-Islamic Monotheism) and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” Chapter 13 Verse 28
“Those who believed (in the oneness of Allah-Islamic Monotheism), and work righteousness, all kind of happiness is for them and a beautiful place in the hereafter.” Chapter 13 Verse 29
This world is full of temptations and very few could resist and avoid all kind of influences that lead to them. Searching for comfort in this life is
not at all prohibited in Deenislam. On the contrary Deenislam encourages all kind of lawful transactions and businesses as long As they are practiced according to the Sharia-e-Islam. In this beautiful Deenislam a person is never prohibited from searching for a beautiful wife, wealth, a latest model car, a luxurious house a palace or anything that provides a person with comfort and happiness. In fact these can never be achieved without the assistance of Almighty Allah.
“The life of men when they get to the age of puberty is tempted by desire for women when they get married children, when they get children the hoarding of treasures of gold and silver, splendid horses, cattle, and plantations. These are the comforts for the transitory life of this world; the everlasting best comfort, however, is with Allah..” 3:14
“Say : "Shall I tell you of better things than these, with which the righteous will be rewarded by their Rabb? There will be gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will live forever with spouses of perfect chastity and the good pleasure of Allah. Allah is watching His servants very closely..” 3:15
The righteous people are those who pray: "Our Rabb! We sincerely believe in You: please forgive our sins and save us from the agony of the Hellfire;."3:16
(They are) those who are patient, those who are true (in Faith, words, and deeds), and obedient with sincere devotion in worship to Allah. Those who spend [give the Zakât and alms in the Way of Allah] and those who pray and beg Allah’s Pardon in the last hours of the night.
Allah bears witness that Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He always) maintains His creation in Justice. Lâ ilâha
illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam. Those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) did not differ except, out of mutual jealousy, after knowledge had come to them. And whoever disbelieves in the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, then surely, Allah is Swift in calling to account.
So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah´s sight are (all) His servants.3:20
