In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.


Surah An Naziat

Translations

79:1 (Y. Ali) By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence;

79:1 (Picktall) By those who drag forth to destruction,


Surah An Naziat

Translations

79:2 (Y. Ali) By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed);

79:2 (Picktall) By the meteors rushing,


Surah An Naziat

Translations

79:3 (Y. Ali) And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy),

79:3 (Picktall) By the lone stars floating,

79:4 (Y. Ali) Then press forward as in a race,

79:4 (Picktall) By the angels hastening,

79:5 (Y. Ali) Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord),

79:9 (Y. Ali) Cast down will be (their owners') eyes.

79:10 (Y. Ali) They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state?

79:10 (Picktall) (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state

79:11 (Y. Ali) "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?"

79:11 (Picktall) Even after we are crumbled bones?

79:12 (Y. Ali) They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"

79:12 (Picktall) They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding.

79:13 (Y. Ali) But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry,

79:13 (Picktall) Surely it will need but one shout,

79:14 (Y. Ali) When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment).

79:18 (Y. Ali) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?-

79:18 (Picktall) And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)?

79:19 (Y. Ali) "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'"

79:19 (Picktall) Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him).

79:20 (Picktall) And he showed him the tremendous token.

79:24 (Picktall) And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest."

79:25 (Y. Ali) But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life.

79:25 (Picktall) So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former.

79:26 (Y. Ali) Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth ((Allah)).

79:26 (Picktall) Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth.

79:27 (Y. Ali) What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? ((Allah)) hath constructed it:

79:27 (Picktall) Are ye the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built?

79:28 (Y. Ali) On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection.

79:28 (Picktall) He raised the height thereof and ordered it;

79:29 (Y. Ali) Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light).

79:29 (Picktall) And He made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morn thereof.

79:30 (Y. Ali) And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse);

79:30 (Picktall) And after that He spread the earth,

79:31 (Y. Ali) He draweth out therefrom its moisture and its pasture;

79:31 (Picktall) And produced therefrom the water thereof and the pasture thereof,

79:36 (Picktall) And hell will stand forth visible to him who seeth,

79:40 (Picktall) But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust,

79:45 (Y. Ali) Thou art but a Warner for such as fear it.

79:45 (Picktall) Thou art but a warner unto him who feareth it.

79:46 (Y. Ali) The Day they see it, (It will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn!

79:46 (Picktall) On the day when they behold it, it will be as if they had but tarried for an evening or the morn thereof.
