Surah Al Inshiqaq

Translations

84:1 (Y. Ali) When the sky is rent asunder,

84:1 (Picktall) When the heaven is split asunder


Surah Al Inshiqaq

Translations

84:2 (Y. Ali) And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);-

84:2 (Picktall) And attentive to her Lord in fear,


Surah Al Inshiqaq

84:3 (Y. Ali) And when the earth is flattened out,

84:3 (Picktall) And when the earth is spread out


Surah Al Inshiqaq

84:4 (Y. Ali) And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty,

84:4 (Picktall) And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty

84:5 (Y. Ali) And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality).

84:6 (Y. Ali) O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him.

84:6 (Picktall) Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence).

84:7 (Y. Ali) Then he who is given his Record in his right hand,

84:7 (Picktall) Then whoso is given his account in his right hand


Surah Al Inshiqaq

84:8 (Y. Ali) Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning,

84:8 (Picktall) He truly will receive an easy reckoning

84:9 (Y. Ali) And he will turn to his people, rejoicing!

84:9 (Picktall) And will return unto his folk in joy.

84:10 (Y. Ali) But he who is given his Record behind his back,-

84:10 (Picktall) But whoso is given his account behind his back,

84:11 (Y. Ali) Soon will he cry for perdition,

84:11 (Picktall) He surely will invoke destruction

84:12 (Y. Ali) And he will enter a Blazing Fire.

84:12 (Picktall) And be thrown to scorching fire.

84:13 (Y. Ali) Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing!

84:13 (Picktall) He verily lived joyous with his folk,

84:14 (Y. Ali) Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)!

84:14 (Picktall) He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah).

84:15 (Y. Ali) Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him!

84:15 (Picktall) Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him!

84:16 (Y. Ali) So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset;

84:16 (Picktall) Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset,

84:17 (Picktall) And by the night and all that it enshroudeth,

84:19 (Y. Ali) Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage.

84:20 (Y. Ali) What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?-

84:20 (Picktall) What aileth them, then, that they believe not

84:21 (Y. Ali) And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate,

84:21 (Picktall) And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)?


Surah Al Inshiqaq

Translations

84:22 (Y. Ali) But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it).

84:22 (Picktall) Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny;


Surah Al Inshiqaq

Translations

84:23 (Y. Ali) But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)

84:23 (Picktall) And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding.


Surah Al Inshiqaq

Translations

84:24 (Y. Ali) So announce to them a Penalty Grievous,

84:24 (Picktall) So give them tidings of a painful doom,


Surah Al Inshiqaq

84:25 (Y. Ali) Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail.

84:25 (Picktall) Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing.
